The bolder sister to our Christine bag! Show your global concern with colorful creativity. Artisans thoughtfully produce patterns from color news pages available at the time and weave them into a dynamic mosaic. People see a striking color pattern only to discover that you are carrying a bag made from handwoven newspaper.
Each “Tina Handbag” is completely unique and is made from unused newspapers in the Philippines by women artisans who are supporting their families through their craft. The families all live at Manila’s Smokey Mountain, once the world’s largest garbage dump, and used to survive by scavenging for recyclables. The women’s cooperative that produces this handbag provides alternative work opportunities that are safe, dignifying, and creative.
